Paytronix OO Report

NEWTON, Mass. -- Oct. 14, 2025 

Paytronix has published the 2025 Paytronix Online Ordering and Catering Report. It found that guests ordering through apps complete their orders 4x faster.

Native mobile apps also lead in order speed and reliability.

“For restaurants and c-stores, mobile-first engagement is now the primary driver of higher order frequency, deeper personalization, and stronger lifetime value. These guests order more frequently, engage more deeply with loyalty programs, and respond better to personalized promotions. When loyalty is integrated directly into mobile ordering, order frequency rises measurably, turning one-time buyers into repeat, high-value customers.” – 2025 Paytronix Online Ordering and Catering Report.

Findings of the report include:

Average Order Values (AOV)

AOV for non-loyalty customers is $35.97 while AOV for loyalty customers is $34.79. This shows that non-loyalty customers spent slightly more.

However, loyal customers are more likely to return. 

The guest relationship protects AOV.

Median Order Times  

Most orders are completed in 3-6 minutes. Here is the breakdown by platform: 

  • iOS - 3 minutes 52 seconds

  • Android - 4 minutes 19 seconds 

The takeaways:

  • iOS orders are faster.
  • Android shows higher variability.
  • Median times are closer, show that Android orders aren't all that slower.

This data shows you should use native interfaces. App loyalty platforms increase AOV  and lower time-to-order. 

Order Completions and Recommendation Acceptance Rate  

Data shows an Average Completion Rate for first-party apps of ~40.4%. The Average Acceptance Rate for mobile is 3.6%. The Average Tender Total is $22.86.

The Web Interface shows slightly better performance than mobile.

Recommendation Acceptance Rates are low. However, Paytronix data shows that add-ons can boost digital ticket sizes by 14-18%.

The report explains digital ordering trends and how to use them. 

It shows the ways connecting digital ordering systems with loyalty programs increases CLV. With an easy ordering process, brands increase orders 28%.

The connection of kitchen and ordering systems leads to a 22% reduction in mistakes.
