Paytronix Appoints Lee Barnes to Lead Data Insights Team

Paytronix Restaurant and Retail Customers Gain from Lee Barnes' Proven Success; Leverage Big Data to Drive Guest Behavior and Revenue Opportunities

Paytronix Systems, Inc., a leading provider of reward program solutions to restaurants and retailers, today announced the hiring of industry veteran Lee Barnes to head the Company’s Data Insights team. Lee has already begun helping Paytronix’s clients to uncover opportunities for revenue growth through the use of advanced analytics and data tools.

“As an analytics specialist, I’m excited to work for Paytronix as the company really pioneered the application of deep data analysis for better understanding and engagement of guests. And with more than 250 restaurants chains and retailers using Paytronix solutions and generating a wealth of actionable data, there’s tremendous opportunity for one-to-one engagement,” said Lee Barnes. “Loyalty and mobile marketing is a fast-evolving market with big revenue implications, and Paytronix brings the technology and marketing savvy to guide retailers down a clear path to cultivate happier, more loyal and more profitable guests.”

Lee will lead the Data Insights team for Paytronix. Data Insights is a premium offering that provides restaurants and retailers with the Big Data tools and services to synthesize data from sources such as loyalty programs, email clubs, guest surveys, social networks, and online ordering. Data Insights combines out-of-the-box dashboard reports with a team of experienced analysts to help uncover actionable insights from disparate data sources. The Data Insights team applies advanced analytical tools that bring together multiple large data sets, finding and measuring value in that data, to achieve a complete view of guests. Armed with this actionable insight, customers can engage their guests with relevant offers for greater loyalty and an increase in overall sales.

“Lee Barnes has built a strong reputation over the past decade plus with CVS, L.E.K. Consulting, and Capital One, where he’s led initiatives sifting through terabytes of data to identify opportunities to increase conversion rates and ultimately revenue,” said Andrew Robbins, president of Paytronix Systems, Inc. “We’re excited to have Lee’s experience and leadership skills heading our Data Insights team. Establishing strong guest relationships and brand loyalty requires a true understanding of each guest, and Lee is already helping several of our clients to personalize engagement and offers in new ways that match each individual guest’s lifestyle and preferences.”

Lee comes to Paytronix from CVS Caremark, where he uncovered millions of dollars in revenue expansion and cost saving opportunities through Big Data analytics, leveraging a combination of in-house transaction data, data from the CVS Extracare loyalty program, real estate data, retail industry data and data provided by CPG brands. Lee conducted deep-dive analytics on how to better engage guests and sell more product within the aisle, studied which products to stock in which stores, how much inventory to carry, where to place products on shelves, and which promotional vehicles and offers were the most effective.  His work resulted in a complete make-over of the aisle across 7,500 locations to lift sales and reduce costs. Lee also worked for L.E.K. Consulting’s Retail & Consumer products practice, where he advised clients on issues including M&A activity, global expansion, and operational turn-around.  Before L.E.K. Lee worked at Capital One, a well-known leader in leveraging large-scale data analytics to make business decisions. Lee earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Warwick, one of the UK’s top ranked universities, and then went on to Harvard Business School to earn an MBA.
