Sales Representative – Major Accounts

Location: Waltham, Massachusetts

Job Description:

Paytronix is looking for a sales representative to sell loyalty, gift card, and email services to large restaurant chains. This person will initiate relationships with new contacts within prospective client companies across the US and work with the Paytronix selling team to close complex sales.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospects and clients with the goal of maximizing revenues and profitability
  • Work with Paytronix management to develop specific account strategies and execute those strategies
  • Conduct meetings and presentations both over the phone and in person
  • Understand the technical aspects of the products and present this knowledge to prospects
  • Prepare weekly sales report showing progress of sales accounts and sales pipeline                                                                                               

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to navigate complex sales accounts and reach C-level executives
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and prospects
  • Aggressive, great attitude, team player and a self-starter
  • Bachelors degree in a technical field or business
  • 5+ years experience working in a commercial grade software company
  • Enthusiasm to learn and to share your knowledge
  • Travel as required, may require significant time on the road
  • Proficiency with Windows-based environment running Microsoft Office

 

Nice to have:

  • Experience selling to restaurant chains
  • Knowledge of the Sandler selling system

Location: Up to 3 months training in Waltham, Mass., then based in Texas (Dallas preferred)

This person will initiate relationships with new contacts within prospective client companies and work with the Paytronix selling team to close complex sales.

Technology Consultant

Location: Waltham, MA

Job Description:

This position is an important link between our customers and our products.  Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and executing the deployment projects for our customers.  This includes
    • Making recommendations on point of sale (POS) process for utilizing Paytronix functionality.
    • Recommending Internet connectivity.
    • Designing rules-based loyalty programs utilizing proprietary rules engine.
    • Developing training programs for customer organizations.
    • Delivering training to various customer groups.
    • Overseeing the process for designing and ordering magnetic stripe cards with the customer organization.
    • Install and configure software at customer site and develop material for customer technical representatives to repeat installation process.
  • Consulting with customers on the use and implementation of the products: either through visits to the customer site or on the phone.
  • Solving customer specific problems and questions; which involve re-creating specific customer situations by running and customizing POS systems.
  • Perform product testing with QA and Engineering.
  • Writing technical and user notes, knowledge base articles, installation guides, training materials, and other manuals.
  • Recommend new product features to product management and engineering.

Technical Solutions Specialist

Job Description:

This position is an important link between our customers and our products.  Responsibilities include:

  • Performing installations and troubleshooting problems on the POS systems that our customers deploy – including systems from Micros, POSitouch, and Verifone.
  • Assisting with and training customers on configuring and using POS systems.
  • Training customers on the use and implementation of web-based products through phone calls and/or “WebEx” sessions.
  • Inputting and modifying database information for client accounts.
  • Solving customer specific problems and questions, which may involve re-creating specific customer situations by running and customizing POS systems.
  •  Researching and resolving client questions, or their guest’s questions; including use of the Paytronix web sites or account access.
  •  Perform product testing with QA and Engineering.
  • Writing technical and user notes, knowledge base articles, installation guides, training materials, and other manuals.
  • Travel: no travel required.

JAVA/POS Vertical Developer

Job Description:

Paytronix offers a full range of loyalty solutions that are directly integrated into retail point-of-sale (POS) systems.  These solutions help merchants increase sales by fostering better relationships with their customers and encouraging them to visit more frequently.  The overall results are increased sales and customer retention. We have hundreds of restaurant chains using the Paytronix software including Panera Bread and Outback Steakhouse.   Individual users number in the tens of millions and Paytronix processes half a billion transactions annually.

This individual will develop software using a vertical development model.  He or she will be expected to design and develop all aspects of a new feature.  For some features this includes changes to POS system integration, secure messaging from the restaurant location to our hosted platform, high speed transactional processing, database stored procedures, database schemas and database maintenance plans.  Core challenges in this role include:

  • Integrating to various POS system, such as MICROS, Xpient, POSitouch, Speedline, VeriFone Vx570, etc.  To be able to create the type of promotions desired by our customers that fit seamlessly with the POS database structure and cashier processing flow.
  • Messaging sensitive information from a partially secure software client to a secure hosted platform over an unsecure network
  • Processing transactions with rules customized by person, date, time and location at high speed and high volume.
  • Design and maintenance of database structure and stored procedures that operate all of the above with sufficient security, speed and flexibility.

This work is both challenging and exciting.  The individual will be working with a team of very experienced engineers developing this solution.  The individual should be able to create solutions from ground up or adapt existing modules already built in the system. Must be able to work with the requirements team and the relevant documentation, produce design documents and follow them through implementation and quality assurance phases into deployment and maintenance.  All members of the software development team perform quality assurance testing at the end of each release. The centralized, hosted solution runs on load balanced J2EE application servers.  This software is written in Java, Scala and Lift.  The POS client software is written in Java, C++, C# and proprietary POS scripting languages.  Guest information is stored in multiple Microsoft SQL server databases.  The development environment includes: Roundup, Subversion, ant, and a continuous build process.  An automated testing platform has been built from Selenium and proprietary tools. 

The individual must have:

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or closely related field or foreign equivalent.

  • 5 years of software development experience, which must include the following experience (which may be gained concurrently):

    • 2 years with Java and J2EE (JSP, Servlets)
    • 2 years C, C++ or C#
    • 2 years of database design, optimization, triggers and stored procedures with a major commercial database:  Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, SYBASE or DB2
    • 1 year developing secure messaging solutions
    • 1 year developing systems for high speed, high volume transactional processing
    • 1 year integration with POS or equivalent system
  • Experience must reflect working with team-based development methodologies and practices: code sharing tools (Microsoft VSS, CVS, Subversion), defect tracking systems, etc.

  • Experience should reflect proficiency with all the aspects of developing a web-based application: setting up web and applications servers, building applications that use them, testing and debugging web-based applications

  • Experience should also reflect having worked with secure financial solutions such as transaction processing or credit card processing.
