Customer Solutions Consultant

Job Description:

This position is an important link between our customers and our products.  Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and executing the deployment projects for our customers.  This includes
    • Making recommendations on point of sale (POS) process for utilizing Paytronix functionality.
    • Recommending Internet connectivity.
    • Designing rules-based loyalty programs utilizing proprietary rules engine.
    • Developing training programs for customer organizations.
    • Delivering training to various customer groups.
    • Overseeing the process for designing and ordering magnetic stripe cards with the customer organization.
    • Install and configure software at customer site and develop material for customer technical representatives to repeat installation process.
  • Consulting with customers on the use and implementation of the products: either through visits to the customer site or on the phone.
  • Solving customer specific problems and questions; which involve re-creating specific customer situations by running and customizing POS systems.
  • Perform product testing with QA and Engineering.
  • Writing technical and user notes, knowledge base articles, installation guides, training materials, and other manuals.
  • Recommend new product features to product management and engineering.
  • Travel less than 5%.

Ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to gain rapport with wide range of personalities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with documentation experience.
  • Experience in customer service, including training delivery.
  • BS or BA degree.
  • Strong technical background and problem solving skills.
  • Microsoft Windows administration and networking experience.

Pluses

  • Flair for pre-sales and consulting.

JAVA/POS Developer

Job Description:

Paytronix offers a full range of card-based loyalty solutions to help merchants increase sales, identify customers and improve customer satisfaction. We have dozens of active clients who together use the Paytronix software in thousands of locations. Paytronix card-holders number in the millions and use Paytronix gift cards at restaurant locations across the United States.

The individual will be working with a team of very experienced engineers developing a web-based solution that provides gift card and loyalty card processing for retail merchants.  Our solution integrates point-of-sale (POS) client software with a J2EE application server. The individual’s primary responsibility will be to develop new features and product enhancements to our systems using vertical integration; that is, implementing all portions of a product change from POS system through to the database.  The individual will design and develop interfaces to various POS systems, such as MICROS, POSitouch, VeriFone 3750, etc. In addition, the individual should be able to implement individual components or subsystems according to the architecture already in place. These components or subsystems may include writing web pages, coding complex Java modules, understanding and developing database components such as schema updates, triggers or stored procedures.

The individual should be able to create solutions from ground up or adapt existing modules already built in the system. Must be able to work with the requirements team and the relevant documentation, produce design documents and follow them through implementation and quality assurance phases into deployment and maintenance.

The individual must have:

  • Object Oriented experience in software design and development
  • Able to write large amounts of high quality code in Java, C++ and C
  • 5+ years experience with Java and J2EE (JSP, Servlets).
  • 2+ years experience with J2EE Application Servers (JBOSS, Tomcat, WebLogic, etc…)
  • 5+ years experience with C and C++ (including OO design, C++ templates, etc) 
  • Experienced on team-based development methodologies and practices: code sharing tools (CVS, Subversion), defect tracking systems,   rapid product development cycles 
  • Working knowledge of database design, optimization, triggers and stored procedures. Microsoft SQL Server 2000 is preferred 
  • Proficiency with all the aspects of developing a web-based application: setting up web and applications servers, building applications  that use them, testing and debugging web-based applications
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems; Linux system administrator knowledge
  • Proficiency of working with HTML, graphics, building professional application UI and conduct necessary reviews
  • Must be a fast learner capable of acquiring new technologies and working within an existing system

Nice to have:

  • 3+ years experience with configuring routers, managed switches, Cisco and Linux iptables firewalls
  • Working knowledge of DNS, VRRP/HSRP, network routing and inter-networking, TCP/IP 
  • Experience working with financial solutions such as transaction processing, credit card processing, etc
  • Working knowledge of open source development tools, such as Ant build system, JUnit unit testing framework
  • Knowledge of Perl

Technical Solutions Specialist

  • Performing installations and troubleshooting problems on the POS systems that our customers deploy – including systems from Micros, POSitouch, and Verifone.
  • Assisting with and training customers on configuring and using POS systems.
  • Training customers on the use and implementation of web-based products through phone calls and/or “WebEx” sessions.
  • Inputting and modifying database information for client accounts.
  • Solving customer specific problems and questions, which may involve re-creating specific customer situations by running and customizing POS systems.
  •  Researching and resolving client questions, or their guest’s questions; including use of the Paytronix web sites or account access.
  •  Perform product testing with QA and Engineering.
  • Writing technical and user notes, knowledge base articles, installation guides, training materials, and other manuals.
  • Travel: no travel required.
