Gift Card Results - 2008
The Holiday 2008 season was remarkable. For the second year in a row, and consistent with the economic climate, we saw gift card sales decline, on average, from one year to the next. While some merchants
fared well, by and large more merchants saw a decline in sales over last year?s numbers. While this report samples only Paytronix customers, what we are seeing here is consistent with what the National
Restaurant Association reported as an expected decline of 1.2% in gift card sales (for the total year). In 2008, we continue to see the trend of store-based card sales decline. Our customers who performed
